A Decade of Dreams: Celebrating 10 Years of Tea or Coffee School of English

Now that we are celebrating our 10 years and in these special dates… I’ve started to remember… How it all started…A decade ago, I embarked on a bold venture:Tea or Coffee School of English.

I have never been afraid of taking risks! I envisioned a place where learning English was not just a
task but a delightful journey taking place in a beautiful school. No bland classrooms, with light
green walls and posters of English grammar and vocabulary. Oh no no! I would have a beautiful
looking school with round tables, a casual vibe, and a cozy coffee lounge…
I wasn’t going to use books!! Instead I wanted to create projects and themes that resonated with
each age group, from toddlers to adults. Courses, entirely speaking-based and context-driven.
Why not make learning a fun experience?
And as for the teachers, well for those who don’t know me, I am a teacher by heart. I loved every
moment of my teaching career. I knew from the beginning that the teacher played the most
important role in a student’s life. Everything depended on the teacher.
And so our teachers would be the heart of the academy, not just certified but a super team of
like-minded, creative individuals, who had some special something-something to add to their
classes
Ten years down the line, and I am so happy and grateful to say that every part of that vision
became a reality. We have seen many students, many teachers and many core team members
come through these doors, shared this special experience with me and my work and life partner
Xavier Bayona Mas. Even amidst the most challenging times, we have thrived.
And every single person coming through our doors have added and helped in co-creating this
entity in some way.
As we celebrate our 10th year, I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of
Tea or Coffee School of English. It is your journey as much as it is mine.
Collaboration and community are my beliefs, and I'm immensely proud of those who walked
through our doors, made their mark and left with big ideas, big dreams and big projects and have
started their own businesses and/or academies.
Today, the evolution of TorC continues, and I am the luckiest person to have Sandra and Natalia,
a super team working with me, not only to expand my vision, but also in the co-creating my new
and exciting project SOAR : School of Awakening and Re-creating.. Did I mention I am a risk taker,
a project starter? The journey continues, and I can’t wait to share this new venture with you all.
